FAQs
These are frequently asked questions about our church. Have more questions? Feel free to send us a message by clicking on the button below.
ContactWhat can I expect during my first visit?
Expect a warm welcome, coffee, and amazing people, and plenty of volunteers to direct and answer questions! A typical Sunday will include a time of worship, studying the Bible and community in our lobby spaces!
What should I wear?
We welcome you to come as you are. Whether you prefer to dress up or dress down, we encourage you to wear what you feel comfortable in.
What about my kids?
At Gateway Kids, your children’s safety and experience are our top priorities. We offer a fun, engaging, and secure environment for kids from birth through 5th grade. Our trained volunteers use interactive lessons, games, and crafts to make learning about God meaningful and memorable, and all volunteers complete background checks and child safety training.

Getting connected at Gateway is easy! Join us for Party with the Pastors on the first Sunday after each gathering, connect with others through a Small Group, attend one of our events, or reach out to a pastor or team member—they’d love to help you find your place here.
Meet Our Pastors
Jeffery & Joanne Portmann
Jeffery and Joanne were high school sweethearts and are Peninsula kids who moved back to lead the Gateway team in 2024. They have two sons, two daughter-in-loves, and one granddaughter. You may find them connecting with people in the lobby on Sundays or walking along the Poulsbo waterfront during the week. They love the opportunity to present Hope and develop people.
